After graduation, I continued to work as a temporary employee until July of 2008 when I was offered a position as a permanent employee. I am excited to watch the University continue to grow and evolve and am here to assist you in any way that I can."

Employee Assistance Specialist
"I became a staff member in the Office of Human Resource Services in June 1997. Prior to that, I was affiliated with Appalachian State University through my employment with the Hubbard Center for Faculty and Staff Development. Before coming to Appalachian, I was a member of the private sector, most notably with French-Swiss Ski College for a number of years as Group Reservations Manager and also with the Arts Center of Catawba Valley in Hickory, North Carolina. I am enjoying my time here at Appalachian, where I have cultivated many treasured friendships. I am a Boone native, and, ironically, work in the same building in which I was born. I have now transitioned from the Employment area of HR to Employee Relations. I strive for excellence in customer service, and I welcome everyone to call or drop by if I can be of assistance."
Human Resource Specialist
"I have been with ASU, in the HR department, since 2000 and worked for several years in Human Resources before coming to ASU. If you have any questions regarding SPA employees or non-student temporary employees, please give me a call."
Workers Comp Administrator
I began working at ASU in October 1988 after working at IRC for 15 yrs. in manufacturing. I worked 9 months in 4 different temporary positions then accepted a 1 year position in the Safety and Workers’ Comp Office as Right-to-Know Clerk in August 1989. When the year was up I accepted the position on a permanent basis and became very familiar with all the cleaning products used on campus. In November, 1992 the Workers’ Comp. Administrator (WCA) resigned and I was promoted to the WCA position where I remained until July 1, 2010. Workers’ Compensation was moved to Human Resource Services as part of the Benefits Section to better serve University employees. I look forward to continuing my service as the WCA and providing ASU employees with a friendly smile and a sympathetic ear when they report job-related injuries/illnesses. So please call me any time to report an injury/illness or with questions related to workers’ comp.
"I began working in the Office of Human Resource Services in July 1993. Prior to coming to this office, I worked at New River Light & Power for six years. I am a Boone native and I enjoy living here with my family and friends. If you have any questions regarding employee events or tuition waivers feel free to give me a call or stop by."
