Domestic Partner Benefits
Appalachian State University offers certain domestic partner benefits to the faculty and staff at ASU. For benefits currently being offered please see the information below.
Future benefits are anticipated to be added so please check back routinely for updates and information alerts.
The North Carolina State Health Plan does not currently allow Domestic Partners to be covered for major medical benefits. Individual policies may be issued through other insurance carriers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. To obtain a quote from BCBSNC please visit their web site at www.bcbsnc.com.
Domestic partners can:
- Purchase dependent ID by paying the required fee through the AppCard office
- Access all recreational facilities by paying the required fees through the AppCard Office (Employee payroll deduction for the access fee is an option.)
- Access any events sponsored by Health Promotions, such as classes, work-out facilities, etc.
- Access all library resources. Please note: Domestic Partner of employee must have a University issued ID card to check out any library resources
